CFA Requirements


Typical CFA candidates include analysts, portfolio managers, investment bankers, traders, fund managers, and auditors. In order to be listed as a CFA charterholder, one must fulfill the following requirements:

Enter the CFA Program

  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program, or four years qualified professional work experience or a combination of work and college experience that totals at least four years
  • Register and pay fees


Become a CFA Charterholder

  • Pass all three levels of CFA Program exams sequentially
  • Become a regular member of CFA Institute
  • Meet the professional conduct criteria and maintain the status
